Registration for Women in Data Virtual Conference 2021 is now open!

While Nepal’s first Women in Data Conference was hosted by The Data for Development (D4D) Programme on February 23, 2019 with the theme डाटा शक्ति नारी शक्ति – ‘where two superpowers meet’ and brought together influential people from the sector, 2020’s plans were met with a halt due to the on-going pandemic. This year however, D4D in partnership with the Women in Data Steering Committee plans to continue to host the annual Women in Data Conference with the goal of making the tech and data sector more inclusive but this time virtually.

This year’s theme will be Leveraging the Power of Women, Data and Technology and will revolve around interesting discussions consisting of inspirational women panelists with an aim to increase female participation in this sector. This year’s conference will host a panel discussion on Leveraging Data for Digital Future by Girls in Tech (GiT) with panelists: Jyoti U. Devkota (Professor in the Department of Mathematics, KU), Sumana Shrestha (Managing Partner, Kosi Collaborative) and Jamie Holton (Project Management & Research Officer, Publish What You Fund). The event will also encompass a presentation on the Role of Technology in STEM for Nepal by WiSTEAM with insights on the status of girls/women in tech globally and in Nepal. The panelists will also answer questions from the audience so please find the registration details here.
