Women in Data (WID) is a professional networking platform specifically designed for women in the fields of data, technology, and innovation in Nepal. WID provides a space for women to connect, collaborate, and grow professionally. The platform brings together women from various sectors of tech, data, and STEM, empowering them to share knowledge, opportunities, and career insights.

About Women in Data Steering Committee
Women In Data (WID) Steering Committee consist of a blend of advisory members and implementing organizations all with unique on-ground connections and technical backgrounds. Currently it consists of members from Open Knowledge Nepal (OKN), Women Leaders in Technology (WLiT), Shequal Foundation, Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN), Ankamala , Women in Information Technology (WIIT), Digital Rights Nepal (DRN), The Algorithm , Smart Cheli , Udeshya Girls in STEM , NAXA Private Limited and Logpoint. The Data for Development (D4D) programme from the Asia Foundation currently acts from an advisory role for the committee.

The Women in Data (WID) platform is dedicated to empowering women in the tech and data sectors in Nepal by offering them a space to connect, develop their skills, and explore career opportunities. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where women can network, learn from one another, and access resources that help them excel in their careers. By building a community of professionals, the platform fosters collaboration, mentorship, and career growth, with the ultimate goal of increasing women's participation and representation in tech and data fields.

Vision

As technology and data become increasingly central to solving societal challenges, the representation of women in these fields remains crucial. While women make up more than half of Nepal's population and are integral to the country’s development, they continue to be underrepresented in data, technology, and STEM sectors.

By creating an inclusive space that promotes professional growth, skill-building, and networking, WID strives to bridge the gender gap in tech and empower women to become leaders and innovators in the field.
